Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate, dynamic and emotionally intelligent Assistant General Manager (AGM) to help lead our team in delivering exceptional dining hospitality to our guests. As the AGM you will assist in overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff, and driving financial success. As a key leader within our management team, the AGM will foster a positive, energetic, and collaborative work environment, while upholding the restaurant’s standards and values.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Management
- Assist in recruiting, training, and managing front-of-house staff.
- Promote a positive, Hospitality-focused, and inclusive work environment.
- Lead by example, providing excellent customer service and instilling high standards in the team with emotional intelligence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and address staff concerns.
Hospitality & Customer Experience
- Ensure the highest quality of hospitality by interacting with guests and addressing any complaints or issues swiftly and professionally.
- Monitor dining areas to ensure smooth operations, positive guest experiences, and cleanliness.
- Drive initiatives to exceed guest expectations and build lasting customer relationships.
Financial & Operational Management
- Support the General Manager in managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resources.
- Assist in inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
- Tracking Costs
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations.
Marketing & Brand Representation
- Assist in implementing marketing strategies to increase customer loyalty and attract new patrons.
- Uphold brand standards and contribute creative ideas to promote events, special menus, or community involvement.
Problem-Solving & Decision Making
- Resolve operational issues, staff concerns, and guest complaints effectively and in a timely manner.
- Make proactive decisions to improve efficiency, service, and customer satisfaction.

- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business management, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in restaurant management or a similar leadership role.
- Ability to see the larger picture through a myriad of details and understand the core issues, available options and best actions with lowest impact; like playing chess vs checkers.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of restaurant POS systems, financial reporting, and inventory management.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Certifications:
- Food Safety and/or Alcohol Management Certification is a plus.
